The Emerald range
Emerald lists the All-In-One Hot Water Heat Pump Pro, the All-In-One Hot Water Heat Pump Select and the Split System Hot Water Heat Pump. It also sells air conditioning and smart home products such as Solar Soaker.
Emerald says it was "Founded, owned and operated from Sydney's Northern Beaches since 2006", and that its products are "Designed in Australia, engineered to Australian standards."
All-in-one or split
| All-in-one (Pro or Select) | Split system | |
|---|---|---|
| Layout | Heat pump and tank in one unit | Heat pump and tank as separate parts |
| Space | One footprint to plan for | Two spots, joined by pipework |
| Ask the plumber | Pro or Select: what's the difference for us? | Where would each part go? |
Warranty: start with the installer
Emerald's warranty page says that if a professional installed your system, contact the installer first. For a claim, you'll need proof of purchase and details of the issue.
The warranty excludes misuse, neglect, fair wear and tear, rust, corrosion, and repairs by unauthorised repair agents. So if something goes wrong later, don't let just anyone open it up.
Emerald says registering your warranty gives you added benefits.
Questions for the installer
- Pro, Select or split: which suits our space and household?
- If something goes wrong, are you the person Emerald expects me to call first?
- Who is an authorised repairer for Emerald around here?
- Will you register the warranty, or should I?
What we would do
Because Emerald sends warranty problems to the installer first, choose your installer as carefully as the heat pump. Ask how long they've been fitting heat pumps and whether they'll come back if it's faulty. A plumber who specialises in hot water should answer both without hesitating.
